Emily Hobhouse was a social activist and humanitarian as well as a pacifist and involved in  the Women’s Suffrage Movement in England.  She was also involved in the creation of the Women’s International League for Peace and Freedom (WILPF) in the Hague in 1915.  Jenny Hobhouse  has researched, sorted and studied the Emily Hobhouse papers for nearly half of her life and has written books on her.
