After what hopefully has been an enjoyable summer, we welcome you to come share your ideas for projects our branch can undertake. Note: this is a business meeting; therefore we will not have an outside speaker.
Daisy Kler from Rape Relief will describe the history of “Take back the night” regarding violence against women and how women can organize to prevent violence.
In addition to the section AGM (complete with elections), we will hear a report from our delegates to The Hague.
Roxanne Davies will be speaking about Olga Kotelkov, the 90-year old athlete.
All members are welcome to participate in the discussion, vote in elections, and send off our Hague delegates with well wishes.
Dr. Angeles’s talk will deal with the differential impact of (post) crises and (post) disaster scenarios in southeast Asia’s Second Front on the War on Terror. She is Associate Professor of Community and Regional Planning and Women’s and Gender Studies at UBC.
