Eiichiro Ochiai, born in Tokyo, received his Ph.D in Japan; came to Canada in 1969, taught chemistry at UBC, and then taught at Juniata College, Pennsylvania. After retiring in 2005, he returned to Vancouver. He has published 10 books on various topics, and about 100 papers in chemistry and relations areas.
