In September 2025, the UN Secretary General António Guterres released an important report to mark the 25th anniversary of UN Security Council Resolution 1325 on Women, Peace & Security. The last paragraph of the “Women and peace and security” report affirms that women peacebuilders’ “universal message to governments and armed actors is unequivocal: end the wars, respect international law and disarm.” WILPF-Canada agrees and we call on the Canadian government to stop arming Ukraine and Israel, to end the wars, and disarm. We have sent letters to the government and to several MPs with a copy of this report and our appeal to cut military spending.
