Join us to discuss Canada’s progress on implementing the 17 United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and the federal government’s current public consultations on the draft strategy for Sustainable Development 2026-2029. Learn more about the goals and the gaps and how you can engage in this important process to advance the SDGs in Canada. There will be a special focus on the goals related to poverty elimination, women & gender equality, action on climate change & the environment, and peace & justice.

Speakers are Dr. Tracy Smith-Carrier, Canada Research Chair in Advancing the UN Sustainable Development Goals in the School of Humanitarian Studies at Royal Roads University in Victoria, British Columbia, and Mariam Karmazanashvili, founder and national lead of the SDG 5 Fellowship under the United Nations Association in Canada. The discussion will be moderated by Tamara Lorincz, PhD graduand in Global Governance, Balsillie School of International Affairs, and Member of WILPF-Canada and VOW. Organized by the Women’s International League for Peace & Freedom-Canada (WILPF) and the Canadian Voice of Women for Peace (VOW). All welcome.
