WILPF Canada participated in film screenings of “Earth’s Greatest Enemy” in Waterloo in June and Hamilton in July. We joined forces with other great peace, justice and Palestinian groups to host the screenings of this powerfully film about the climate and environmental impacts of the U.S. war machine.
There were great crowds and we passed out our buttons and fact sheets “Canada’s Carbon Bootprint: The Problem of Military Emissions and Expenditures” and “NATO is a Threat to People and the Planet“
Our member, Tamara Lorincz, gave short presentations about the climate and environmental impacts of the Canadian Armed Forces. At the Hamilton screening and fundraiser event, money was raised to support Palestinian doctors-in-training. At both events, we took group photos with our banner “Militarism fuels the climate crisis. Abolish NATO.”
