Eight months have passed since popular protests calling for change and Freedom spread out nationwide in Syria. The protests have been largely peaceful, yet Syrian authorities have sought to suppress them in the most brutal manner. As many as 3500 people have been killed during or in connection with the protests since mid-March. On Saturday, local Syrian activists will talk to us about repression, violence, and torture in Syria and how Canadians can help.
