Nov. 9: Book launch in Nanaimo, 2 pm at the Nanaimo Harbourfront Library

You are invited to the re-launch of Kim Goldberg’s Submarine Dead Ahead: Waging peace in America’s Nuclear Colony.
This book chronicles the activities of the local and historic “Nanoose Conversion Campaign”, a creative and dedicated group of peace activists which  brought attention to the fact that American nuclear powered and nuclear capable warships were using the test range at Nanoose and travelling through our local waters.
Kim will read from her book and sign copies.  All proceeds from sales will go to  WILPF, Women’s International League for Peace and Freedom. This promises to be an exciting afternoon with past members of the Nanoose Conversion Campaign  in attendance and a lively discussion guaranteed. With Canada’s refusal to sign and ratify The Nuclear Prohibition Treaty last month, this will be a very relevant afternoon. Please join us for this free event and  bring your friends!
