The Women’s International League for Peace and Freedom (WILPF) congratulates and supports you for your initiative in introducing Bill C-629. WILPF has been very active in the field of disarmament since 1915 (yes, almost 100 years). Its web site www.reachingcriticalwill.org and specifically http://www.reachingcriticalwill.org/legal/npt/nptindex1.html are being used as an essential source of documents and analysis on general disarmament and particularly on nuclear disarmament by many governments and NGO around the world.
WILPF has called for a total NWFZ in the Arctic and hopes that your initiative with Bill C-629 will be met with approval by Parliament and will hasten the implementation of a NWFZ for the whole of the Arctic area.
